individuals, the elderly and abused in Lawrence
County.

meet the legal needs of the poor and vulnerable
in the community through effective legal
representation and education.

Brief Overview of Services/Programs |
Provide legal help to troubled families (abuse,
custody and family law issues); Public Benefits
(SS, denials or termination of UC, DPW); Tenant
issues; Consumer issues (Sheriff sales, Tax
sales, Mortgage Foreclosure, Executions on
personal property, Utility terminations,
Predatory Lending, Unfair Debt Collection); Low
income worker issues; Elder law (referrals).
Help can consist of direct representation,
advice, assistance w/self representation, brief
service/limited legal assistance or referral to
a private attorney (includes free and reduced
fee). Also provided: community education on
legal topics. Free interpretation services are
provided to those clients w/limited English
abilities and the hearing impaired.
