Eligibility
Requirements |
If
issues arise or when the situation is an
immediate crisis and cannot wait or you have no
access to a telephone, go directly to the
Emergency Department at Jameson North Campus,
1211 Wilmington Avenue, New Castle, PA, where a
psychiatric assessment will be completed and
appropriate treatment recommendations will be
provided. Jameson ED is staffed with highly
skilled psychiatric assessment staff that is
specifically trained to assess individuals in
crisis. For individuals who may not be willing
to come voluntarily to the Emergency Room for an
assessment and are in imminent risk of harm to
themselves or others, a mental health delegate
should be called for assistance. The delegate
can be reached 24 hours a day/7 days a week at
phone number (724) 652-9000. |

Population Served |
Mental Health/Behavioral Heath Services offers a
continuum of care for mental health treatment
and strives to provide comprehensive, safe and
competent care to enhance the quality of life
for individuals and their families. Our
multidisciplinary team of health care
professionals includes doctors, physician
assistants, nurses, social workers, counselors,
activity therapists and mental health
technicians who support patients and their
families with individualized, coordinated care
services tailored to meet the special needs of
adults and older adults. ER assessment and
disposition planning for child/adolescent
population only, there is no adolescent
inpatient program available at this time. |

Statement of Services |
Recovery oriented mental health treatment
approach in a therapeutic environment geared
toward empowering people to recover, succeed in
accomplishing their goals, and reconnect to
themselves, others, and the meaning and purpose
in life. The intention of Behavioral Health
Services is to provide high quality
individualized care in a non-biased program
regardless of race, religion, sex, ethnicity,
age, or disability. |

Mission Statement |
In
all that we do, to all whom we serve, we promise
caring and compassion, dignity, and respect,
responsiveness, and courtesy, and we strive for
excellence, consistent with the values on which
the Hospital was founded. The primary purpose of
the treatment program is to provide empowerment
and self-directed, recovery oriented care for
adult/geriatric mentally ill consumers in the
least restrictive setting.
Because we believe that each person is unique,
all treatment plans are individually designed
with your input to meet specific needs. The
focus of treatment is practical and solution
focused with an emphasis on symptom reduction
and learning healthy coping skills. Families and
support persons are a valuable resource and are
encouraged to participate in treatment goals.

Brief Overview of Services/Programs |
INPATIENT SERVICES
The inpatient program features two (2) distinct
and separate units, a 12 bed geriatric unit and
16 bed general adult unit, all within a modern,
peaceful and comfortable setting. These programs
offer:
• Personalized Treatment Planning
• Intensive Mental Health Care and 24 Hour
Medical Supervision
• Individual Process and Psycho Educational
Groups
• A thorough psychiatric and medical assessment
of each individual by a team of psychiatrists,
nurse practitioners, physician assistants,
psychiatric nurses, social workers,
psychologists and other staff to accurately
develop a specialized treatment plan.
• Intensive individual and group therapies and
family education
• Education on psychiatric disorders
and current treatment options.
• Medication evaluation and management
• Coordination with outpatient behavioral health
services to provide ongoing care and treatment
upon discharge to the most appropriate level of
care.
• Address psychiatric crisis in a hospital
setting
